Simple Gifts: Daily Meditations With Spirit
"We are not human beings having a spiritual experience. We are spiritual beings having a human experience" (Pierre Teilhard de Chardin). These meditations/communications are inspired by spirits, guides, teachers, and masters, and provide guidance for walking on the path towards a new paradigm for earth. Along the way, we will learn something, you and I, about the many dimensions that co-exist around us, and what it means to be a “spiritual being having a human experience.”

365 days ago, we started on this journey together to discover where we are, where we came from, and where we are going. On this journey we examined and acknowledged the concept that we are spiritual beings having a physical experience and how that knowledge can be utilized to pursue our best path through this life. As we stand on the threshold of another new year, we can rest assured that we have awakened to an understanding that as we live our lives on this plane, our essential spirit continues, forever and always, to fulfill the vision of the Creative Spirit and, in this, know that we are one within the interdependent web of existence. As we celebrate our daily renewal, let us always remember we exist within and are sustain by the energy of love. Namaste!

Reminding ourselves that we are one within the All that is traveling within the vision of the Creative Spirit can help us to determine our next steps on this path. As we resolve to evolve in our thoughts and actions, knowing that we are an integral aspect of something vastly larger than our individual self should give both comfort and a sense of responsibility. While we are never alone, we are also always responsible for the well-being of those around us. If we focus our resolutions for the coming year on the expression of compassion, empathy, and kindness, we will surely grow within the energy of love. Namaste!

Although all space is here and all time is now, we measure our lives by the illusion of space around us and the moments we bind one to the next as we progress on our path through the physical plane. In this balance between an awareness of the illusion and the creation of a constant evolving reality, it is no wonder that we sometimes feel like tightrope walkers trying to keep steady within each step. In this time of contemplation and self-examination, it is good to remember that we are essential spirit sustained and informed by the interdependent web. Namaste!

Who am I? Why am I here? How can I make a difference? Am I living my best life in this span of time I am here on this plane? When we examine our lives, we become aware of the questions seeking answers. We are born into this world knowing what our purpose is and the lessons we have incarnated to learn. In a brief span of time, we forget why we are here and begin to struggle to accommodate the physical plane as our individual spirits and those on the other side of the veil cognizant of our life plan wait in contemplative awareness as we stumble and then regain our footing. Now is the time to light a candle and sit in meditative silence, listening to the informing spirit of our essential self. Namaste!

Socrates said, “The unexamined life is not worth living” and we have now reached that time of year when we stop our mad rush around the planet and contemplate our place on it and consider ways in which we can attain a new awareness of self within the larger community. Just as we have spent time recently discovering the myriad manifestation of light within and around us, so now we are compelled to discover how we may utilize this light for our own growth and for the best purposes of those around us. When we examine our lives, we acknowledge those lessons that remain to be learned. Namaste!

We are almost through the festivals that have at their core the celebratory reverence for the myriad manifestations of light. In Kwanza we find that the light is a source of inspiration for how to live on this plane in the company of others and how to do so with the intention of striving to become our best self. One aspect of this holiday is recognizing one’s unity with the All. When we unify our essential spirit within the light of community, all things are possible. Namaste!
