July 13, 2011

When we least expect it, our lives seem to take on a life of their own. One day we are working at a job that we thought was our life work, that which we went to school for and worked hard to get. The next day, we find that the business has closed or we are let go. Then we become tense and wonder how we failed, how this calamity could have happened when we had worked so very hard. That is the moment not to focus on what has just happened, but rather, to ask, with a sense of wonder and anticipation, what is next, what is the next step we should take on our path. At every moment, we need to examine where we are and what we are doing and ask spirit (our own and others) if we are on the best course. Our paths change over a lifetime; we need to listen carefully to discern our next steps. Namaste!
