Preparing for the changing of the seasons can be arduous and time consuming. Whether we are preparing for winter or spring, there is always much to do. Just as the gardens must be prepared to wake or to sleep, we, too, need to adjust ourselves to a change in weather and the temperament of the earth. In the spring we become attuned to the seemingly urgent need to create and to bloom. In the winter, we feel the quieting of the world around us and find ourselves needing to establish our own quiet times in which to contemplate the cycle of transitions known as birth and death. When we allow ourselves to acknowledge the changing of the seasons, we can readily become at one with this miracle and give thanks. Namaste!
