What goes around, comes around—we just don’t know when, how, or what. Are we responding negatively to a person because that person has just apparently wronged us or did that person, on the third of May in 1873, injure us in some way, and our current reaction is a response to that? When someone cuts us off in traffic and we respond with irritation, is this the first time our paths have crossed, or is this some sort of payback for a time when we cut them off somehow in a previous life? We rarely know the answers to these questions, because we rarely, from moment to moment, remember our past lives and deeds. Therefore, it is much better to act in love, peace, kindness, compassion, and generosity, not simply because we then expect to receive the same in turn, but because doing so increases the positive energy within the interdependent web. When we act from the heart, we receive from the hearts of others. Namaste!
